The Extreme Kayak World Championships should have taken place at the Ekstremsportveko in Voss this year. But, as you might have heard, the men's category at the Voss Veko Extreme Week sold out within a week. In addition, entry to Norway is still restricted for international athletes. Therefore, in order not to disadvantage any athletes and to ensure the presence of as many nations as possible, the AWP has decided to move the World Championships to Ötztal. For these reasons, the event organizers decided to add an additional 50 starting slots. The additional starting places will be allocated according to the following criteria: Origin from nations with less than 3 athletes already registered. Place in the official AWP ranking list . Outstanding performance in international whitewater races in the last 3 years. For athletes with equal qualifications, the order of registration will be taken into account. The women’s slots are not yet filled, so registration will simply continue here – first come, first serve. Registration will be open from Saturday, July 3, 9am CEST until Sunday, July 18, 9pm CEST.
