Despite the friendly nature of this wave, competitors where still faced with adversity in the form of huge ice bergs and other debris floating down the river. Thanks to a team of spotters on the bridge we where able to avoid any serious collisions but there where still a few close calls. Competitors were split into two heats, each of which where allotted one hour to surf. The rules for this stage were simple, go big! The three biggest or most complex tricks that a rider threw would be added together to give them their overall result for this stage.
